Viewing a File                                                                                                                                        

Welcome to 5thKind quick help, these docs are intended to help you do a particular task within the system.  For more detailed information please see the 5thKind manual.

About Asset Viewing

In the Search Results, only the first 8 assets in each group are displayed. If the group contains more than 8 as­sets, a >> icon will appear in the group. Clicking this will take you to Asset Group View page for the entire group, or you can select the asset group name and that will also take you to the Asset Group View Page.  If you select an asset icon you will be taken to the assets view page for that file.

The Single Asset View will display a single file in the viewer that fits for the file. For example, if you select a video the video player will appear, and if you select a PDF the PDF viewer will appear.

Selecting an individual asset to view opens the Single Asset View Page. This is where you can view the asset in it media viewer and find the most information about a single asset. The asset view page consists of the info/actions top bar, central asset viewer, subja­cent Asset Group Navigation Row, and the Asset Tabs along the bottom

Asset Navigation

When you are in the Asset View you have several ways of navigation and viewing the file and the other files in the same group.

  • Return to Search: On the far left is the Return to Search button.  Use this when you want to go back to your search results.

  • Asset Group Forward / Back: The asset group forward / back arrows let you step through the different asset groups from your search results.

  • Asset Forward / Back: The asset forward / back arrows let you step through the different asses that are in the current group. The Up arrow will take you to the group view.

  • Filename Select: The filename dropdown lets you select a file to view in the Asset Viewer by selecting the filename from a dropdown choice.

  • Status: The Status drop down will set the Status of the asset.  The status can vary by system and are managed in the Manage Status section of the admin. Selecting a Status from the drop down will set the assets status to the one chosen and the status bar will reflect the statuses color.

  • Package Select: On the far right is the package dropdown box.  This allows you to select the active package you would like to use, or to create a new one.

Asset Action Bar

Below the Asset Navigation is the Action bar. This is where you can select to see more information about the asset or select actions to apply to asset. Any changes you make will be applied to just the currently displayed asset.

Video Media Viewer

The video viewer will stream the video to your device in an encrypted format.  You can scrub the video on the timeline, or choose to play at normal, x2, x4, and x8 times normal, both forward and backwards. You can also step frame by frame, and loop the video so when it reaches the end it will repeat.

  • Video Scrubber: At the top of the video control is the timeline. You can scrub the video using the white circle frame indicator.

  • Timeline: To the right of the timeline is the frame counter.

  • Frame Counter: The frame counter indicates the current frame the video is displaying.

  • Annotation: If you want to annotate on the video select the annotation icon.  This will open the annotation controls so you can draw on the video frame. Any drawing you make will be frame specific.

  • Loop Mode: To set the player to loop mode select the loop icon.  When this is on the player will keep repeating the video until you turn it the loop mode off.

  • Audio: If you want to mute the video, select the speaker icon.  This will turn the audio on or off.

  • Play Controls: The Play controls are in the middle of the control bar. The Play/Pause button is at the center. Next to the play button are the frame forward, and back buttons. On the outside of the play controls are the speed selections. Selecting them will cycle though x1, x2, x4, an x8 times playback speed, either forward or back.

  • Quality: The system can stream both an SD and HD quality video. HD is the default, but if you are in a low bandwidth location or are having playback issue you can select the SD quality.

  • Comment: To add a comment, select the comment icon and add the comment in the comment window.

  • Approve / Reject: To approve or reject the asset choose either the thumbs up or thumbs down icons.

  • Fullscreen: To go to fullscreen mode select the fullscreen icon.  This will bring the viewer into fullscreen mode. To exit fullscreen mode select the fullscreen icon again or hit the “ESC” key.

Image Media Viewer

The image viewer will let you zoom in and out of the image and pan it around. You will also see two rotate icons in the asset bar to rotate the image.

  • Rotate Image: The Image Action Bar will include two rotate icons that will rotate the image in the view clockwise or counter-clockwise.

  • Annotation: If you want to annotate on the image select the annotation icon.  This will open the annotation controls so you can draw on the image.

  • Zoom Controls: To zoom in and out use the slider control in the middle or the “+” and “–“ icons. To reset to 100% select the “target” icon.

  • Comment: To add a comment, select the comment icon and add the comment in the comment window.

  • Approve / Reject: To approve or reject the asset choose either the thumbs up or thumbs down icons.

  • Fullscreen: To go to fullscreen mode select the fullscreen icon.  This will bring the viewer into fullscreen mode. To exit fullscreen mode select the fullscreen icon again or hit the “ESC” key.

 

Document Media Viewer

The system can also display both PDF’s and documents like Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Pages, and other office documents.

  • Page Up and Down: To navigate to the different pages use can use the scroll on the right or use the page up and down arrows.  You will see the current page count to the right.

  • Zoom Controls: To zoom in and out use the slider control in the middle or the “+” and “–“ icons. To reset to 100% select the “target” icon.

  • Comment: To add a comment, select the comment icon and add the comment in the comment window.
